Obtaining full control of a Kiosk I-9 prepared Windows XP machine

Good Day Experts,

So I've been outsourcing our Kiosk I-9 machine deployment and configurations for our HR Departments's onboarding and just recently upper management decided that we'd like to use internal resources to provide this kinda of machine.  I have a Kisok I-9 but can't seem to gain full control to the operating system.  I was wondering if anyone had any methods of doing this since it will save us so much time compared to rebuilding a whole new kiosk image.  As well as i don't have the kiosk software or software that is locking down the XP OS.

Items:
1.)  The machine is Windows XP SP3 Professional.

2.)  I can get into the administrator account but cannot run newsid.exe for new images.

3.)  I can get into the user account that brings up the kiosk I-9 web interface but cannot run executables from this account.

Anyone know of a method to gain full access so i can deploy a regular image with the Kiosk software already installed?

Many Thanks,

Ellsworth

Dear,

You have some tools to gain full access like Offline Password Recovery.

Also the SID only make problem if your computer is using WSUS, see :

well i've kinda gained some ground but even when i'm logged in as administrator i don't have full administrative access.  Like i can't change the domain and if i do run newsid then what ever makes the I-9 interface automatically come up when booting into the regular user account doesn't come up any more.  I'd like to view inet history because i think the I-9 interface is webbased but i can't access history with the administrator account or user account.

Any suggestions are welcomed!!

Dear,

http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Download and install it on a usb stick or cd-rom.

Then after booting follow this tutorial :

But don't reset the password like at ~3:15 but promote the account has admin.

ok i'll give that a shot but i believe Group Policy is whats holding back the administrative rights will the http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/  fix that as well?

Dear,

You could try after to run in safe mode, but I'm not sure if newsid will work in safe mode.
