The most important thing is whether you host the site by yourself on your own server, or where else?

Yes.  Putting in and then Ctrl + Enter brought up the site.  And now just putting in  and Enter works, which didn't before.

    So what's going on?

The site is being hosted at a hosting provider (Hostway).
