SBS 2008 Setup Remote access to a folder on the Network

Can someone tell me how I give a user RWW access to a folder on the network in SBS 2008.

A staff member works from home and wants to be able to copy a file to the office on a regular basis as a backup.

I thought I should be able to give her access to a folder through RWW, but not sure how to do it.

    Accepted Solution

2008 RWW doesnt support this - 2011 SBS does.
Easiest way for 2008 is to use a VPN connection, or setup an FTP server

You can do an FTP server like wolfcamel suggested

You can use cloud storage as well to backup the document or file to a storage device not on the network but can be downloaded or viewed from any where

It was announced as a feature of SBS 2008 but didn't actually make it.  SBS 2011 does have this though.

For a backup of one file it may not be worth the hassle of setting up a VPN or FTP, depending on how this user is.  I would suggest something like a USB key or even something like DropBox or Skydrive.

yes - livemesh with skydrive could suit for automating it.

vpn or ftp only it the user really needs to get the file to your server.
