SBS 2003 Server Backup Failed Strange log entries

A few days ago, after weeks of normal backups, my SBS 2003 backups began to fail with errors that certain files could not be read.  I have Symantec enterprise 11 running and have not run into any trouble in the logs.

I have restarted the server with no results, but I did not want to do a check disk or any other procedure before I sought advice.  The log is attached.  Has anyone run into this before and what is the best course of action?  I will not be able to respond or answer questions until tomorrow evening, but I would appreciate any advice and/or explanation.  Thanks in advance for any help.   eric

Hi, try recreating your backups and see if it yields the same results.  Sometimes that will fix the problem.

What do you mean by “recreating your backups.”  I have backups that did not fail, but they are five days old now.  I am using the build in backup tool that comes with Small Business Server 2003 and (Server 2003 I believe).  I do not know how to “recreate them” or how that will affect future backups from experiencing the same errors.   Thanks for your post…  eric

Another observation, it appears that the number of files affected is growing.  Logs from a few days ago are much smaller than today’s.  My hard drives are only about a month old, but I will go through any process to check every aspect of the problem.  Thanks again.  eric
