Very weird - when I open a file directly from a folder, I can't click the menu or anything within Excel, only the fields. Can't save, print, etc. (though keyboard commands work).

Opening Excel and then the file from within Excel, I can - what's going on with Excel?

Is this when opening from outlook?

If so, sounds like protected view, but this is avialable in Excel 2010 not 2007

Do you have the whole Office 2007 suite installed?
Are there any mixed versions of Office or Office applications on the PC
I.e. a mix of office 2007 and 2010?

If you just have office 2007 installed
make sure you have the latest SP installed

If it still doesnt work
Try running office diagnostics on it or an REpair
