Hyper V failover cluster

I got 2x HP DL 380 G7 servers each server has external raid card P812/1G.
My question is can I connect my HP D2700 disk enclosure to both server with min SAS cables and create hyper v cluster.
Please advise it this will work and how can I do it.

Absolutely not. D2700 is supported for single initiator only, the dual attach feature is to connect both cables to a single RAID controller. http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13404_na/13404_na.html ...

"The D2000 enclosures support direct attach storage to ProLiant Servers with the HP Smart Array P411, P212, P812, P222, P421 or the P822 Controllers. On HP ProLiant and Integrity servers Dual Domain support is available for the HP Smart Array P411 & P812 Controllers attached to a D2600/D2700. (Single initiator environment only.) HP UX 11iv3 and Windows 2008 R2 OS supported for HP Integrity servers (single initiator environment only)."

Think what would happen with two servers connected to it through RAID controllers, one would write to it but the controller would keep the data in write cache since it can and the other would not be able to see that data.

You need a P2000 MSA for a shared SAS connect cluster, using dumb HBAs in the servers and utilising the RAID controllers inside the P2000.

So basically the HP D2700 does not support cluster shared storage is this correct and when I buy storage for what must I look so its supports my clustering.

Do you want Hyper-V HA failover or just the ability to complete Live Migrations?

There is no requirement for a Cluster to perform Live Migrations in Windows 2012 Hyper-V.

If you require Hyper-V HA, you will need a Cluster, which passes the Cluster Verification Utility. (personally I would try it, if you already have the kit!)

That's correct. D2700 does not support clustered shared storage. It can be attached to a P2000 MSA as an additional enclosure since the P2000 has its own RAID controllers, but the RAID controllers in the servers would have to be replaced with dumb SAS HBAs.

Curious at to what made you think it would work since you're the second person recently who tried to use a D2000 as shared storage (they had a D2600, similar but 12 * LFF disks).

If you have the kit, run the Cluster Vefification Wizard!

if it fails, you cannot use to create a Cluster!

So to be able to make a Hyper-V Cluster with 2 x DL380 G7 i would need eg. the HP P2000 G3 SAS MSA Dual Controller LFF Array System (AW593B) and for each of the Servers a HP H221 Host Bus Adapter (650931-B21) - correct?
And as it has 4 SAS Ports per Controller i would be able to attach another 2 x DL380 G7 to it?
