Backup Exec version 2012, need help I am desperate!
Hello all, first let me just say that Backup Exec 2012 SUCKS, the program is a abortion!
Now that I have that out of the way here is my story.
1. I upgraded from BE version 12 to 12.5, THEN to 2012. The upgrade from 12 to 12.5 was a requirement.
2. When using version 12, I had a simple but effective backup routine. Monthly fulls of selected data, then different backup for the remaining days of the month.
3. BE 2012, chopped up all my backup jobs and now wants to run full back ups every other day or every other week or every third day. Not good.
4. I cannot restore ANY of my data.
So now I have a program that makes full backups frequently and has chewed up all the space on my VTL.
I need to go BACK to version 2010, since the 2010 version worked similar to version 12.0
I saved the entire BackExec from version 12 BEFORE I did the upgrade to version 12.5
My question is how can I get back to version 2010?
I have phoned BE tech support to resolve these issues, they are USELESS.
As a side note, does anyone have a suggested replacement for BackupExec?

Yes, they have support right in Boston.
Backup Exec is good choice. For-gate the 2012 or others....., you have a copy of Backup Exec 12, your are user friendly with that, and already you saved all data. Just install the new fresh installation and start new inning.
Another option is always to call tech support back at Backup Exec and if your initial Level 1 tech support person is no help, simply ask to speak to a supervisor. This often brings you in contact with a Level 2 or Level 3 technician who has more experience and access to more solutions. This same approach works with many companies for many kinds of problems and is a universal solution for dealing with tech support - or customer service - that cannot help you with your problem.

BE 2012 is NOT working, I cannot backup or restore ANY of my servers. The product is an abomination.
What I need to do is find a replacement product or find someone who is competent enough to guide me through a uninstall of 2012 and a reinstall of ver 12 without loosing any data.

The question was not answered. If anyone is thinking about Symantec Backup Exec 2012, do NOT, I repeat do NOT install this product.
