MIcrosoft Word & Excel Licenses

I was wondering. We have a small business and use Word and Excel daily. We wanted to get a simple low cost solution for about 10-12 users and figured we would ask the experts what is the most cost effective solution. Should we consider a Server license with a set number of users like 10 or is there a cheaper way to purchase for individual installations.

Does anyone know the most cost effective solution for that need. Please advise. Thank you.

      I would say the most cost effective license for you would be an Open License Program. This means that you get a contract for 3 years and you pay each year a fee. The fee per year is a lot less then an OEM license.
      The best of this is that is not linked to a single computer, so if you want to throw away one computer you would not loose the license and you can use it on the new one without any issues.
      Also if the company gets bigger you do not need to worry about licenses, you just install how many you need (but not more than the double you have licensed, for example for 10 licensed office you can install 10 additional) and this will be added to your next year invoice.
      Also the best part of this contract is that whenever a new Office is available you can upgrade it without any cost.

      If you are sure that for a period of 2-3 years you will not change any hardware, you will not buy more than 10 more computer and would not be interested in a new product from Office that you can go for, then a OEM/GGK License of Office Home & Business 2010, as it will be cheaper than the full 3 year contract with Microsoft.

    PS: Be aware, the Home&Student license is not for use in business).
