moss2010 prompt username when opening documents with word 2007

Hi to all of you,
as described in the title when I open a word document in moss 2010 on a desktop where it's installled office 2007 pro I get the prompt for username and pw . The same document on the same moss logged with the same userid but from a desktop with office 2010 pro  doesn't prompt the password.

I used fiddler to check that on both clients ntml is used for authentication, the url is on the intranet sites.

do you know why this different behaviour?
Thank you
Carlo

1.we assume both desktops are part of the same domain
2.check the security zones in IE (Local Intranet, Trusted Sites) to see if they have the moss site (topsite) in the same zone; check if the zones have the same User Authentication (click on Custom... on each computer and scroll to User Authentication - one of them is asking for username and password, the other one is using Integrated Authentication)

hi,
1) same domain same subnet
2) IE moss fqdn is on the same zone Local intranet (added by group policy)
the moss fqdn is not on the trusted site

both have the same user authentication

I'm starting to think the two version of office have different behaviour ... this doesn't happen with pdf files only with office documents.

thank you for your help.
I appreciate.
