I am trying to move a file record format to a data structure...  Please help!!

Compilation error: " *RNF7416 The types of the right and left hand side do not match" on EVAL statement
FACCDAUD   IF   E           K DISK
...
D PreviousDS    E DS                  EXTNAME(ACCDAUD) Prefix(Pr)
...
C                   EVAL      PreviousDs = ACCDAUDREC

Compilation error: "*RNF3804 Name in external description is not renamed" on DataDs definition
FACCDAUD   IF   E           K DISK
...
D DataDS        E DS                  EXTNAME(ACCDAUD)
D PreviousDS    E DS                  EXTNAME(ACCDAUD) Prefix(Pr)
...
C                   EVAL      PreviousDs = DataDs

How can I do this?

Thanks for any help!!

Second one is the right way to do it.

Post the whole compile listing, please - need to see the specific filed that had a problem.  Error indicates there was an attempt to rename a column that failed.

Seems odd since I don't see code to rename a column in DataDS, but then you didn't provide us with complete source code or a listing.

If providing a full listing is going to be a problem, create a mini version with just this:

FACCDAUD ...
D datads ...
D previousds ...
c eval previousds=datads
c eval *inlr = *on

And compile it and see if the same problem happens.
