AVG rolling to free version?

Hi Experts -

I've recently installed AVG and it was prompting that I can 21 days remaining, after that will the application stop working or will it automatically roll over to free version? I couldn't find any documentation over their site. Need real world help.

Cheers!

Hi gsmith888,

here's an excerpt from AVG's FAQ:

How to change to AVG Free when your Trial has expired

If your AVG 2013 trial version has expired, we recommend that you continue your protection. Click the Express Purchase button in the pop-up notification. You can also click the link Buy now to continue your protection directly in your AVG program. You will get an option to upgrade your trial.

If you do not wish to purchase the full version, you can continue using AVG Free edition to stay protected.

To continue using AVG Free:
1. Go to Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel.
2. Open (Programs) -> Programs and Features, or Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select AVG 2013 in the list of programs.
4. Click the Change or Change/Remove button.
5. At the option Give me free protection, click Downgrade.
6. Follow the installation wizard to replace your trial version of AVG with AVG Free.
7. Restart your computer to complete the procedure if requested.

Regards,

After the Trial AVG becomes a free edition.
I'm not fan of AVG have a look at Panda Cloud.

I gave up on AVG (and AVAST) -Free a long time ago. Both interfere too much with the basic Windows OS and are resource hogs compared to Microsoft Security Essentials (Free).
