duplicate my documents folders

I have just completed a migration from server 2003 / XP to 2008R2 / 7. We use roaming profiles with the users documents stored under \\server\%Username%. After the move users logging onto the new windows 7 machines are experiencing a problem: windows 7 is creating another my documents folder and as a result users now have 2 folders called my documents. I need to create a script to merge the old my documents folder with the new one and delete the old. I can tell the new my documents folder as it has an icon in the folder and unless the documents are copied into the new folder the problem re-occurs. I need a script to merge them and delete the old folder but have no idea how to differentiate between 2 folders with identical names……….any suggestions?

The 2 folders shouldn't really exist at the same location with the same name.  If you drop to a command prompt, what are the paths to these 2 directories?  Can you see anything that distinguishes them here?  Are you using folder redirection or any other magic to effect this change?  Regards.

Good call, teach me to look at things late at night. One folder is listed as my documents and the other as documents so a simple robocopy script should take care of the problem
