Exchange Internal-Relay domains and GAL

I have been reading about Exchange Internal-Relay domains and have a quick question. Lets say i have an Internal-Relay domain. There are email addresses that exist in the GAL but their mailboxes are on a different Exchange server.
- If the servers receives a message for an address that exists in the GAL and has a local mbox, it delivers it locally
- if it receives a message for an address that exists in the GAL but doesn't have a local mbox, it relays (send connector) to another server.
- If it receives a message for an unknown address (not in GAL)... what happens? Does it bounce it (NDR) or does it relay it to the Send Connector?

When a message is sent to account@localdomain.com

When a message is sent to the SMTP it searches for the account within the GAL then once located the message is received to the account if the account doesn't exist in GAL it is seen as an invalid account and a bounce back is sent to the sender.

the message is sent to account@internalrelaydomain.com, it is an internal-relay domain, some mboxes exist on that server, some another Exchange box...
If the account exists in exchange whether it is on one server or configured in a accepted domain then relayed or pointing to anther exchange server in the edge transport it will be received as long as the account exists somewhere within exchange network
maybe I am not explaining the question very well. Let's say I have mydomain.com and two Exchange internal-relay servers Server1 and Server2. user1@mydomain.com has a mailbox on Server2 and the email address is NOT in the GAL of Server1. If Server1 receives a message for user1 and given that the user is not in the server GAL, will the message bounce, or will it follow the Send Comnector to Server2?

Just to clarify my previous post, I meant to type edge transport servers, not hub transport servers.
