Hi Experts,

I've made some changes on my SharePoint server. It tells me to perform an IIS Reset. Can I just do that while people are using SharePoint? Or will they lose connection?

In short yes they will. Iisreset stops and then restarts the windows service that hosts sharepoint. Usually takes about 30 seconds to stop and start in which time sites/pages/documents will not be accessible and users will get errors. This maybe harmless but workflows and other processes may suffer more. Maybe you could send out a global email saying SP will be I available for 5 minutes at X o clock or wait till out of hours.

In a nutshell, it won't harm/break anything but it will interrupt anyone using SP at the time
