Cannot open Access mdb file with Win 7 Access 2010

I  try to open an Access mdb with Access 2010 in Win 7 and get the message:
"Cannot open a database created with a previous version of your application."
I tried creating a new Access 2010 empty accdb and importing the tables from the mdb and got the same error message.

You are saying this message is occurring when you are trying to open a standard mdb file - not a non-Access application which uses  an Access database?

Which version of ACcess was the mdb created in?

    Accepted Solution

It must have been prior to 2003. Not sure. We only needed one table from the old mdb, so we ended up creating a table by linkign to the mdb and running a make table query in the 2007 accdb with the linked old mdb table. Problem solved. thanks for your help
