When I get new feeds on twitter I get a message on the top of the stream "new twits" and I need to click on it to see the new ones. How can I have the news automatically come to my screen?

You would have to use a Twitter client such as Tweetdeck to have streaming news. Twitter.com will only show the "new tweets" message.

I'm sure there are browser extensions also that would do this. What OS and browser are you using?

Perhaps not a twitter extension. I cannot seem to locate one. There are a number of Twitter clients that offer this functionality though. Tweetdeck is my personal favorite.
