Can't install WSUS

I'm trying to install WSUS on Windows 2008 R2 and it is failing saying it requires 1gb free space on the system partition.  Problem is, the system partition is 100mb.

This is a Dell Power Edge R620 built using the lifecycle controller (Windows won't otherwise install since it doesn't detect the perc controller) with uefi since it has 2.3tb of disk space and it made a 100mb system partition.

From what I'm reading, seems there is no way around this?

To install WSUS 3.0, the file system of the server must meet the following requirements:
Both the system partition and the partition on which you install WSUS 3.0 must be formatted with the NTFS file system.

A minimum of 1 GB of free space is recommended for the system partition.

A minimum of 20 GB of free space is recommended for the volume where WSUS stores content; 30 GB of free space is recommended.

A minimum of 2 GB of free space is recommended on the volume where WSUS Setup installs Windows® Internal Database.

Can you not install to 2.3 TB partition?

Is windows really running from that 100 MB thing?

i was looking around and found something stating that wsus may not be able to calculate free space correctly.  i'm guessing maybe because it's bigger than 2tb.  i think i'm going to rebuild creating a raid 1 for windows and the other 6 drives as raid 10 and see if that fixes it.  that will keep both volumes below 2tb
