Improving Windows Terminal Services

Any one got any tips on improving Windows Terminal Services performance? I have it installed at a site, and sometime there is a slight slow down as when it deals with graphics etc. I saw the same program at another site, and it seemed to perform faster - for some reason!

You did not give us much information about your environment.

What operating system on the client?
Are the clients logging in from a remote site?
What broadband connections have you set up?

If the broadband connection is used shared between remote and local users on the main site where the TS is, you will find remote users performance affected. depending on number of users you should consider a dedicated broadband connection .

Also I have found PDF operations quite slow. make sure remote users don't use the scroll wheel, rather use the scrollbar slider.

Aside or in conjunction with a speed upgrade you can use a third party product by Ericom called Blaze to speed up scrolling in PDF, JPG's etc.

To test it for yourself download this:

There are a number of performance improvements in Server 2008R2 and Server 2012, you could consider upgrading...
