one question, understand that we do have a server that had IIS uninstalled the incorrect way, lowdisk space, and out of warranty, but why would this keep me from RD when ever i restart the dang Server? after restarting, the issue was not resolved, but now I am unable to login remotely. "Remote Desktop Disconnected" error.
No Remote Desktop after restart, this could have many reasons.
First of all, workarounds to prevent the next case: We solved this problem by using RDP and Teamviewer http://www.teamviewer.com. In most situations there is at least one of them reachable. Next level of Remote Access is to install a KVM Switch with IP access. Then you have the Server Console also for BIOS access. But still no Power switch, if you turned it off.
Did you reboot or only shutdown?
Are you shure, that the server did reboot? Or hangs he in the shutdown/boot sequence?
I assume that the server is rebooted.
Can you login at the Console? The login may solve some of problems.
After you logged in, check if all services with autostart are running?
Install teamviewer, or some equal tool.
Windows Update till up to date.
Try rdp again.
Reboot server. Maybe better two times
If you are looky, exchange will then start properly. In some case, if the install of Exchange Updates is interrupted, the exchange services remain in stat disabled! Check Internet for this problem, well documented.
Did you uninstall IIS? To safe disk space? Not a good idea. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320202
Solve disk space problems with installing more disk space.
