Server 2003 SBE with IIS 6.0
I have an older server running Server 2003 SBE and need to move the entire IIS 6 web content and configuration over to a 2008 R2 box running IIS 7.
I just want to verify the steps needed.
Full backup of Internet Information Server web components:
IIS Web Content (inetpub\wwwroot)
IIS Configuration (metabase.xml)
Server 2003 O/S components...certificates, COM+, etc.
Server 2003 DNS records - if needed
Are these the best migration steps to ensure the web applications will work on the new server?
Thanks for your input.

Which websites are you trying to migrate...Sharepoint, Exchange RWW? Or publically available websites?
ASKER
Web apps and websites. I will need to migrate them to dev first and do some testing as the environments are old=32 bit server 2003 and new=64 bit 2008 R2.
You had this question in the small business server zone. Are you migrating from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011?
ASKER
No, going to Server 2008 R2. We're going over 25 users now and it is time to get away from SBS.
wow. SBS supports 75 CALs and SBS 2011 is great product and there is great transition from 2003 to 2011
ASKER
Nonetheless, the company wants to move away from SBS.
ASKER
Thanks! I was able to move the content over without a hitch.
