For what?  Why are you asking this?  WAY, WAY, WAY too vague.

A support tool - a screw driver, money, the MMC in Windows, third party remote control.  I could list 100,000 things and still be not hitting on what you're asking for because it's way too vague.

installation disks for everything
spares (hard disk, keyboards, mice), older computers can be used as spares
imaging tools i.e. ghost/wds/mdt2012
backup tools (enterprise level), lots of backups
have 10 users and ordering new computers order 11 computers.
Standardized desktops.
Every computer has malware and antivirus package.
Considering that we  have folder redirection in place, and that I can re-image a computer in 20-30 minutes why spend an hour cleaning out malware.
System monitoring software i.e. spiceworks.
A solid management policy that is endorsed by management re Acceptable Computer Usage.

For remote tools, you need something like NetOp, VNC, or use RDP. Remote access to your computers and servers is vital to your everyday life in IT.

You will need a Live Linux CD, such as Knoppix or Ubuntu, to quickly determine if something is a hardware problem or a software problem.
