Text file may have many encodings. You can manually select proper code page in TransferText (last parameter) if you know it, or you can manually import one file with selection of code page (Advanced button) and save import specification. You can find proper code page during this process (You can use saved specification in transfertext - second parameter). If your problem word will be in first some strings, you will see result in Import master.
