Cannot receive email from BES

A BB couldn't recieve any email from my company BES but it could send email successfully. I have already wipe the BB, delete and re-create the account in BES but it couldn't fix the problem. Any idea for this ?

Hi Axishk,

It sounds like the account in question has a problem with the 'Send As' permission. Check to make sure the OU that it is a member of is propagating permissions correctly. If so, try adding the Send As permission manually.

Hi Axishk,

OK, let's go back a step. The BlackBerry user is able to receive emails without a problem, correct? When they try to send an email, what happens? Do they get a red cross against the sent message? If so, when you open the message, what is the failure report that the message gives, please?

Hi Axishk,

What errors do you see on Application events for Blackberry Messaging Agent.
And also what do u see on Blackberry Messaging Agent logs.

Did u run IEMSTEST for the Blackberry Users?
Are the services running under BESAdmin account?

Hi Axishk,

Apologies, I completely misread your question.

Doertalk's request is the best one to start with. Run the IEMSTEST.exe application and select the user account that is having problems. Post the results in here.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Axishk,

Open Event Viewer > Application > (filter Blackberry Messaging Agent ) > check for the warning and errors events.

Coming to the Blackberry Messaging Agent logs,

For Blackberry Server 5.0 and above..
Open Blackberry Configuration Service panel > Logging ( here you can see where the Blackberry Logs are located ).

Go to the location of the Logs folder and open the present data logs and look for "MAGT" logs.
Open MAGT logs and serach for failed or error events. or you can post a complete set so MAGT logs here.

- Also confirm which version of BES you are using in your organization.

Sorry for the late responce.

Cheers,
Doertalk.

Hi Axishk,

Check under which account BES services are running.
( They must be running under "BESAdmin" account is the BES is installed on Microsoft Exchange. )
To check this, services > Any Blackberry Service ( log on As ).

To run the IEMSTEST, go to

c:\program file\Reserach in motion\Blackberry Enterprise server\utilities>IEMSTEST.exe >c:\test.txt

( and select the Blackberry profile and then select all your Blackberry users or the users who are facing the issue ). You will get the output onto the file test.txt.... Paste the output here for the experts to check..

Cheers,
Doertalk
