Jquery 1.8 error

Hello,
  I download jquery 1.8 and I get the error

"Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: :radio[name=r_trace]::checked"

This work in the previous version of Jquery.

why << :: >> between r_trace] and checked ?

what about :
