How can I have the user select or uplaod an image to use in a Java App?

I'm writing a desktop app in Java and trying to find a way to have the user select a background image of their choice.

Do they upload an image or is it simply pointing to it in their file system locally?

How can I achieve this?

Use a JFileChooser.
