Can't send E-mail to yahoo.com

Hi All,

I can't seem to send E-mails to yahoo.com. In the Queue Viewer I get the "last error" message "421 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: "421 4.2.1 Unable to connect." Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts."

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Is it the problem with you sending emails to any yahoo id or any specific id?
Try testing the outbound mailflow using the below link and update the status
http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
This should be a temporary error and can go if you flush the DNS cache on the server.

How long has this been going on?

Andy yahoo.com email address. I've tried several. Here are the results of the test. I could have sworn I put in a SPF record. Will that really matter?

      Performing Outbound SMTP Test
The outbound SMTP test was successful.

      Test Steps

Attempting reverse DNS lookup for IP address 67.136.**.***.
ExRCA successfully resolved IP address 67.136.**.*** via reverse DNS lookup.

      Additional Details
Performing Real-Time Black Hole List (RBL) Test
Your IP address wasn't found on any of the block lists selected.

      Test Steps
      Performing Sender ID validation.
Sender ID validation was performed successfully.

      Test Steps

Attempting to find the SPF record using a DNS TEXT record query.
ExRCA wasn't able to find the SPF record.

      Additional Details
       No records were found.

It's been happening for 3 weeks at least. It's not a big organization and mostly just mail internally but billing is having real trouble now.

I flushed the DNS. no luck
you are facing problem only with yahoo? the same will send on gmail id?

If not than your smtp server have block mails for externam mail sending (outside organization) so enable it.

else open cmd and type "telnet <SMTP server ip> <space> 25 and check is it success or fail?

so I can send to google, comcast, and various private domains. Just seems to be an issue with Yahoo.

I can't telnet from my server to yahoo's 67.195.168.230 mail server. But i can from my desktop.

I can telnet to google's 173.194.77.27 server from my server fine.
Kindly Check the Send Connector if you have "Use External for DNS lookup" checked. Ideally it should be unchecked.

Unfortunately it's already unchecked...
WHat settings does the Hub server property show for "External DNS lookup and Internal DNS lookup"
IS it "Use these DNS servers" or is it "Use the Network card DNS settings"

S_K_S,

I don't see that setting anywhere. I'm using SBS 2011. Is that why?
As it is just a single domain, I would just send email out via your ISPs SMTP Server. Configure a new Send Connector and set the ISP SMTP server as the smart host. Yahoo are probably blocking you for some reason, if you cannot see why, then move on with a simple solution to use another route.

So I emailed my ISP and they said that it is their policy not to provide that service. Are there any other services out there that might accomplish this?

I figured out the issue myself and posted it as the comment I have selected.
