windows xp defrag

I inhereted a laptop and i was going to clean it up and try to make windows XP run really nice. Traditionally I would do this by just saving anything important, and reinstalling winXP. This time I can't do that, so I just can do things like defrag, remove un-used programs etc.
So I noticed on this laptop someone put defraggler. Has anyone used this? is it any good, or better than what comes with windows?

I don't think it makes a difference in terms of defraging the machine, it just comes up with a better grachical interface.

To me, more crap = more slow = more problem.

If you do not want it (I have not heard of it) then uninstall it. The Windows defrag works just fine.

I use Perfect Disk which works great and is very fast (set and forget). .... Thinkpads_User

Defraggler,  I have it on my computer.  It is as good or better than windows defrag.  It even has a scheduler so you can automate the defrag if you like.  Piriform who make defraggler also makes cCleaner.  It is a good tool for cleaning up junk files in the temp folders and such.
