My users that are connected via Site to Site VPN all of a sudden started to experience Word and Excel documents taking at least 4 minutes to open. Following are the details of the setup.
The documents are on a mapped drive from the remote server and are small to medium in size.
We are using Office 2003
large Power Points from the remote server open just fine in a reasonable amount of time.
documents that are .docx and .xlsx open just fine within seconds.
The only files that are taking so long to open are .doc and .xls.
The problem started after installing a bunch of Office Security Updates and the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 3.
Have any of you experienced this problem and if so did you find a solution?
