Excel not recognizing date input

Dear Sir,

When I input the date in Excel like 20120919 without "/" and "-", the date is not recognized.

Is there any method can solve it?

Thanks,
Wataw

You could format the cells as customer format "yyyymmdd" and then enter the date like 19/09/2012 and excel will display it in the correct format
