There is actually a way to set this. I know of someone who deliberately set word to open templates as templates when d-click on .dot icon... But i dont know how they did it. The link does not work for me, alreadg tried it :-(

So... finally found the info &amp;&nbsp;place in OS that I remembered... but alas it was last seen in XP - I was sure I had seen / used it in Vista...<br />

I have a problem opening word 2010 - when I double click on the word icon the template opens instead of creating a new document... I cant find the fix for this but I have seen before.<br />
