Content Types

Hi experts! I'm using SP2007.

I have 3 content types

- New Item
- New Announcement
- New Page

I would like to know the unique URL to each of the above content type to create new item i.e. newitem.aspx

Hello,

I assume that these three content types are not in the same list, right? If they are in separate lists, open each list individually and cick the "add new" link. That is the URL you need for the respective new item.

ASKER

They are the same list :)
I don't understand. Do you have a single SharePoint list with thee content types, all in one list and they are called "Item", "Announcement" and "Page"? That sounds very strange.

Please provide more details about the setup.

cheers, teylyn
Yes correct 3 content types in 1 list. using the names as examples only.
Hello,

in the ribbon dropdown, click the content type and the form will open in the browser. The URL is in the address bar. This only works if you don't launch the form in a dialog (List settings > advanced settings > launch form in dialog = No)

cheers, teylyn
teylyn, you are speaking of sharepoint 2007 i hope.
Sorry, no, that was 2010. But the same technique works for 2007. Start a new item with the desired content type. The URL you need will be in the address bar. Use that URL to create a link that starts a new item of that content type.

cheers,
that was what i was saying, the url of the different content types are still pointing to newitem.aspx
