Hi experts! I'm using SP2007.

I have 3 content types

- New Item
- New Announcement
- New Page

I would like to know the unique URL to each of the above content type to create new item i.e. newitem.aspx

Hello,

I assume that these three content types are not in the same list, right? If they are in separate lists, open each list individually and cick the "add new" link. That is the URL you need for the respective new item.

I don't understand. Do you have a single SharePoint list with thee content types, all in one list and they are called "Item", "Announcement" and "Page"? That sounds very strange.

Please provide more details about the setup.

Hello,

in the ribbon dropdown, click the content type and the form will open in the browser. The URL is in the address bar. This only works if you don't launch the form in a dialog (List settings > advanced settings > launch form in dialog = No)

Sorry, no, that was 2010. But the same technique works for 2007. Start a new item with the desired content type. The URL you need will be in the address bar. Use that URL to create a link that starts a new item of that content type.

Yes, but the URL does not end with newitem.aspx. There is stuff after that, which details the content type, for example I have a list with three different content types, Announcement, Task and Message. If I create a new announcement, the URL is

http://Site/Lists/ContentTypeTest/NewForm.aspx?RootFolder=%2FLists%2FContentTypeTest&ContentTypeId=0x01040030544292997D5343803B1C22E955B531&Source=http%3A%2F%2FSite%2FLists%2FContentTypeTest%2FAllItems%2Easpx

If I create a new message, the URL is

http://Site/Lists/ContentTypeTest/NewForm.aspx?RootFolder=%2FLists%2FContentTypeTest&ContentTypeId=0x0107001476EE5386927748BD77C5ABA7015263&Source=http%3A%2F%2FSite%2FLists%2FContentTypeTest%2FAllItems%2Easpx

The content type is identified by the content type ID. If you use that URL in a link, it will open the list form for that content type.
