HDMI video to USB 2.0 converter

I'm live streaming an event and need to convert a signal. The scaler/switcher from which the signal comes is a Kramer VP-728, and the only video out options are HDMI or UXGA. I need to pipe that video to my laptop, which has either USB or Firewire in for video. Is there a plug-and-play option for converting the signal (like a cable or external box)?

    If the video is HD, the bandwidth requirement may be too high for your laptop.  You need a USB 3.0 or PCIe capture card, such as a BlackMagic Intensity

    Yeah, from everything I've seen that seems to be the case. What about an ExpressCard Capture device like the Startech ECHDCAP ExpressCard Video Capture Card for HDMI?

    ExpressCard should be fast enough - it's the equivalent of PCIe.
