In my test lab, I want to configure my cisco 2610 IOS v12.1 to route all traffic between the embedded Eth0/0 card and the Eth1/0 module.   Both ports are connected to their own hub.  I wish for the computers on each hub to be able to ping and communicate over port 80 and actually any port to the other computers on the other hub.

I have to stick with IOS12.1 because there isn't enough flash memory to go to a newer IOS version. From what I've gathered, 12.1 will do what I want.

Please advise me on what ip addresses the computers should be as well.  I know the basics of IOS such as exec mode, config mode.

Thank you.

You should just be able to add the:

ip cef

command to your config and the CEF will route between connected interfaces.  Set the default gateway on the PCs to the IP of the interface on their HUB.

So if Fas0/0 is 192.168.1.1/24 and Eth1/0 is 172.16.1.1/24 then set the PCs on the Fas0/0 to a 192.168.1.x address with subnet 255.255.2550 and gateway of 192.168.1.1
Set the PCs on the Eth1/0 hub to a 172.16.1x address subnet 255.255.255.0 and gateway 172.16.1.1.
