Hi and thanks

I want to create a prompt in Crystal Reports 2008 that will effect 3 different reports.
user enters in a year that a house was built.

So reports:
x, y and z

will have that criteria for each report.

    Accepted Solution

Are these 3 separate reports or are they subreports?

If they are separate then you can't do it except through a home-grown application.

If subreports you can have the main report have a parameter and link it to the subreports.

    Assisted Solution

You should do this in your application, not in your reports.
You catch the parameter through the application and then call each report passing the same parameter to each one of them.

    Assisted Solution

You need an external app. The one I found, which can do this is  R-Tag ( It can create a batch of reports ( they use the name job) which will be executed separately, but the parameters are set one time on the batch level.

    1)  To reiterate what others said, you would need a separate application that could bundle the various reports together so they could take advantage of shared parameters.

    2)  If you have Crystal Reports Server or BusinessObjects Enterprise you can use either Object Packages or Publications. Both will allow you to enter parameters once and be shared among all objects in either of those "bundles".

It was a shot in the dark but I guess this can not be done in Crystal,  you all came up with the same solution so I shared the points, Thanks
