Cluster service failed to restore a registry key for resource MSDTC when it was brought online. This error code was 3. Some changes may be lost.

I have a clustered 2005 SQL server (OS is 2003 Windows 32 bit - VMWARE 5) and it looks like a cluster resource on node B crashed and caused failover services to node A. Node A has the following error message:

Event ID 1082:
Cluster service failed to restore a registry key for resource MSDTC when it was brought online. This error code was 3.  Some changes may be lost.

One admin is stating that it caused a delay from the storage side, and the cluster resource settings should be changed to a higher time value. The current pending timeout value is 180 seconds.

Any ideas?

Found out it was an outdated driver issue..

Ran some diagnostic and found out that it was a driver issue which led to an eventual SQL cluster failure.
