How do I add multi-image effects in Adobe Premier and After Effects?

I have recently taken the plunge to finally learn Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.  For years I used Pinnacle Studio and had more good luck than frustration (not saying that I didn't have any frustration!).

I was used to using some of the hollywod type effects like using an effect to take 6 still photos and creating some pretting interesting 3D effects in one quick shot.

I totally understand that Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects CS6 give me way more flexibility and options than the Pinnacle products, but my workflow has ground to a halt because I can't see where to find effects such as theses.

I don't mind buying some add-ons if they do what I need, but I don't know where to start?
