DHCP pool on Nexus 7k

Hi All,

we recently migrated from cisco 6509 to Nexus 7k. The few cisco IPhones at our datacentre got IP address from the 6509 via DHCP pool

ip dhcp pool DC_Phones_Vlan_800
   network 10.62.120.0 255.255.255.0
   default-router 10.62.120.1
   domain-name XXXX
   dns-server 10.69.253.76 10.83.2.254
   option 150 ip 10.25.96.10 10.28.177.10
   lease 90

The nexus 7k cant act as DHCP server but only relay. The7k is the only layer 3 switch and the rest are access switches. Is there any way around this? is relaying to DHCP server the only way and can it assign IPs, Domain name, DNS address, and TFTP (option 150). How would I configure this on the the nexus?

Is there any way around what? That the N7K can't be a DHCP server? You could install a Windows or Linux server and configure that to be a DHCP server.

You can't configure the Nexus 7K to be a DHCP server.

Yes I thought that was the case (7k cant be a DHCP server) but was not sure and wanted to now if there was an alternative to having a separate DHCP server.
