Hi experts,

Can I copy and keep all the permission of files and data in the workgroup environments.

I means:

ServerA share data by user for each person e.g: folderA will be share for userA
I want to copy all folder from ServerA to ServerB and just keep all the permission of those files and folders.

Ofcouse: I will create all user same with ServerA on ServerB

ServerA and ServerB running on Windows Server 2k8 Std R2

Please don't ask me why don't I set up a domain environment.

    Accepted Solution

This is not posible, because even if the username are the same, the sid for the user will be different in each server.

You can do it only in Active Directory, because is a common users and resources database for all the computers in the domain.
