Excel 2010 very slow

Windows 7 client on SBS 2008; an Excel worksheet (64 KB) takes a long time to open and also a long time to insert rows / columns. Same worksheet opens fine on other Win 7 clients in same office. Excel in Safe mode works the same, very slow. The default printer is a network printer; when I change to a local PDF printer, it works fine. The problem is that I don't want to have to change default printers. This had been working fine for several months, but recently became an issue. Ideas?

This is normally related to printer drivers problems. Can you please remove/uninstall this printer on the computer that is having the problem and add it again. Check if the problem persists.

I have not been on site to reinstall and am planning to do so.
