I have some XP machines which are all the same make and model and I need to build an image. I can't seem to get the OEM activation to stick after Sysprep, and I have been following this article

and nothing seems to work. Plus, when I manually enter the key they give it says it is unauthorized. Anyone else have any better luck with this?

    Accepted Solution

The OEM version is not designed for imaging - you need to use a VL version.

first are you using correct media for the installation? note that OEM, VL, even retail version are not able to activate each other or regconzie the keys.
