Need to create secure 2008 R2 website

i have created a website in 2008 R2, made hostname and it is accessible via "mypage.contoso.local" from a different VM in my test domain, but i tried to load certificate services and create a secure website but it's too different from 2003.

anyone know of a good website to walk you through installing certificate services correctly to support an intranet secure website and walkthrough to add certificate/create 2008 R2 secure site?

Maybe I'm reading your question wrong but it sounds like you are trying to create a self-signed certificate; one you don't have to purchase.  If you are, then the first link that was provided will work, except on the screen that shows to select "Create a certificate request" you would instead select "create self signed certificate".
You will get a certificate warning when browsing a site with a self signed cert, but if that is not a concern for an intranet then it will work.  If the site is going to be facing outward, then buy even a cheap rapid ssl certificate to secure it, you can get them for $15 a year.
