How to Test a SSL Cert

I have an ssl cert for onedomain.com.  I will be migrating to to a new web server.  Is there a way i can migrate and test the ssl cert on the new server before updating my dns records?

on the new server update the host file so that onedomain.com points to it's public IP.  Hit it on the server using the onedomain.com address.

You can also update your host file on a different machine for the same thing.  When you hit onedomain.com the hosts file will override any dns entries.

Hosts file is located in:

%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\

Open hosts with notepad, follow the format for localhost.
