Hi All,

I have an sbs 2008 setup.  I am running into a steange issue in which my autodiscovery information disappears for no appearant reason.  I discovered this problem while troubleshooting lost connectivity with my Outlook 2011 (mac users).
I have run the microsoft connectivity test and i get the following error when my mac users cannot connect:

An HTTP 401 Unauthorized response was received from the remote Unknown server. This is usually the result of an incorrect username or password. If you are attempting to log onto an Office 365 service, ensure you are using your full User Principal Name (UPN).

However, if at this point I reboot the server the autodiscovery beigns to function once again and my Exchange connectivity passes with no errors.  At this point my mac users can connect.  As mac users begin to sownload mail the conection drops and Im back to receiving the error and failing on the connectivity test.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Is SBS on the altest updates? Exchange 2007 SP3 with Rollup 8 is the latest. If not, then I suggest you update to begin with.

Autodiscover uses a DNS record, have you checked those are correct? If you are using SRV records for autodiscover then ensure that you do not have a wildcard in the domain.

I did not have SP3 installed, Installing right now and I will update to Rollup 8 as well.  Will keep you posted.

I have an A Record for my autodiscover and i have my cerificate with SAN's, so Im not using an SRV record.
Question has a verified solution.
