BIZARRE issue on all our servers with google chrome only!!
We have 5 new servers running Microsoft server 2003 R2, IIS6 all with the same wierd issue that only seems to appear with google chrome. ???? I have stripped out any application level issues by creating sample files as follows, andy help or direction to look would be most appreciated!!!:
Open chrome in url type in:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.pdf
Notice it “went back” in history to a blank pake
-------------------------- ---------- -
Close chrome now open again and in url type in:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.jpg
Worked perfectly i.e. download the .jpg
Now leave browser open and type in:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.pdf
Once again goes to page -1 in history or a blank page
-------------------------- ---------- -
Close chrome no open again and in url type in:
http://www.yahoo.com/
Now leave browser open and type in:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.pdf
Goes to page -1 in history or back to Yahoo.com
-------------------------- ---------- -
This only happens if there is /MSP/clients in the url *and* the document is a pdf i.e. try the following all work fine:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.docx
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/clients/blah.jpg
Or the pdf without the /MSP/Clients:
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/blah.pdf
It will work fine even with a “singular” client i.e. :
http://dev1.mystudentsprogress.com/MSP/client/blah.pdf
