SQL server 2008/R2/2012 standard edition on Windows cluster.

Dear all,

I knew that SQL server 2008/R2 standard edtion can be used a clustered SQL server under Windows 2008 server, right?

HOw about SQL 2012 standard edition on Windows 8 cluster? is it doable?

What is the limitation?
1) Mirror on standard edition can only do Sync mode?
2) DAG feature of SQL 2012 can only run on enteprise edition?

    Do you know how much is that different ? between standard edition and enterprise edition.

    do you know any limitation on this when using ? can oracle or DB2 follow the same thing to make the cost cheaper
