Obscure DNS entry

Hello, I am getting an unusual DNS entry and as a consequence an error comes up informing me that it is not a valid IP address for the server computer.  The system is allocating an address 192.160.x.21 to my domain name ie {contose.local}  When I remove the entry manually, it comes back.  I have an exchange 2010 database group on 2 servers, could this be the issue?

look forward to reading from someone soon

Try to logon to this ip address via RDP. If it fails then use HTTP,https, ssh, telnet.

That way you can check what the host really is.

can you do ipconfig/all and make sure that it has got additional IP assigned as well

OzwazzaAuthor Commented:
plot thickens, ipconfig/all shows me 2 IPv4 addresses including the rogue one.  Look into properties of the nic and can't find any additional setting there

go NIC properties->TCP/IP Ipv4-> Click advancesettings->Ipsettings tab and check if any other ip addresses are listed

Used auto to release IP address, reassigned back to static and rogue address is now gone
