Active Directory: mass creation of users 'home folder' path.
hi guys
I'd like to make changes to the 'home profile' section under the 'Profile' section of users in AD 2008 R2. Instead of manually going in to each users profile and entering in the 'home profile' section \\servername\foldername\%u sername%, I'd like to do this in mass.
So I started using ADModify. However, I don't know the correct syntax for doing this (I tried \\server\Foldername\%usern ame%) and it created a folder called 'username':).
Or in fact, if you have a better way of doing this, I'd be most grateful.
Any help would be awesome.
Many thanks
Yashy

That's awesome. I did it and it worked partially; by showing the username details for more than one user in the profile. That's excellent!:)
However, it doesn't create the folder on the server. It's as though it doesn't 'publish' it.
For example, if I do this manually and enter the details in the home folder and select 'Apply', as soon as I go to the server, the folder is immediately created.
Any ideas why it won't work?

Lol...that worked:). That's great and points coming. Unreal!
However, any chance of you knowing how to rectify that ADModify problem? I want it do just create that home folder on our server; it won't create it. Very strange.

Not sure why admodify is not working, you may want to try and email the devs or comment on their page. I don't know how often updates are made for it.
