Xcart not clearing products from basket after purchase

Experts,
I am having trouble with xcart.  When I make a purchase using my credit card.  The purchase hits my credit card processor and does its thing but my user gets redirected to the home page still showing he/she has items still in the cart even tho the purchase has been submitted and accepted by my Credit Card processor.
My user also gets a not finished notice when it should say processed because the credit card is authorized in real time.
I need help fast.  I would a appreciate a link that can help me solve this or some advise on where to look.

Thanks
Richard

Ray,
I have posted this on the x-cart forum and still have not received  any responses. I have contacted the credit card processor and they tell me that everything is working fine on their end and the post back info is being transmitted.  They will not support third party software past their api, which is working perfectly in their opinion.
The processor is First Data Global Gateway.
The best documentation I could find is here:
https://www.firstdata.com/en_us/customer-center/merchants/support/first-data-global-gateway-api-software-landing.html
Thanks for your help.
Richard
Ray,
I was able to figure out what the problem was. Talking to my processor kind of helped in the sense they were able to to confirm for me what wasn't wrong.
Although I did argue with one tech that my cart was using php.  She insisted that I was using html and I wasn't sending the post data correctly.  And she kept saying that if I were using php this wouldn't work at all.  She was such a idiot.
Thanks
Richard
Interesting... Is your hosting company GoDaddy or 1and1 by any chance?
We are using www.Hostgator.com
Surprised to hear that -- my (admittedly few) experiences with HostGator tech support have been very good.  I sometimes had to get past the telephone operator to a more knowledgeable agent, but my request to escalate the call was never resisted.
Ray,
HostGator was not the problem.  They could not help me only because the issue was a support level I needed was to much of a liability.  I dont blame them at all for that response they are protecting their business and dont want to take responsibility for third party software.
My credit card processor (First Data Global Connect) acted like an idiot, she obviously did not undestand how a php driven site sends and recieves post information.   Her I expect to understand my problem and help me find a solution or tell me she doesnt know and pass my support request to the next tier of support.  Instead she chose to argue with me about how my site works.
Richard
I see.  Originally I thought you were talking about hosting tech support.
