Deleted wrong Exchange 2003 mailbox

Removing some old users from Exchange 2003 I deleted the mailbox of the wrong person. The account is still there in AD and the mailbox is still there in System Manager but I do not have the option to reconnect. Does it take a while for that option to show up again?

You need to go to system manager and locate the mailbox. It should have a red X in the icon. Right click and select reconnect - then point to the user object. You should not have to wait.

That is what has me confused, in system manager there is no red X. Other users that we have disabled and deleted their mailbox recently have the red X and give the option to reconnect, but not the one I need. Restart services?

    Accepted Solution

I ran the cleanup agent and my red X popped right up. Then I could reconnect the mailbox.

I ran the cleanup agent and that brought my red X.
