Hi everyone,

Recently one of our intranet sites began logging http 500 errors in IE when attempting to access.  We have since recycled IIS, checked the app pool config, rebooted the server, searched the IIS logs, etc, etc, all to no avail.  Below is the message hitting the IIS log when attempting to access:

2012-09-21 15:11:18 W3SVC1 10.10.19.30 GET \\homepage 10.10.19.30 Mozilla/4.0(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+5.2;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.4506.2152;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729) 200 0 0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The event logs are also throwing the following, but I figured this was inconsequential since I can't even reach the site where log on is required:

Unexpected error in ProcessAD - Error in Authenticate function: The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine;

Any help or advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.

The only thing of note in the event logs are the following, which did start to log right after this problem was reported:

Unexpected error in ProcessAD - Error in Authenticate function: The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseStatusLine;

Sorry, I meant what are the Event ID numbers of the errors you find in Windows Event Viewer?

Is stumbled on this doc, have you tried it already?  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311766

There are a ton of errors associated with event ID 0; does it give you an event source?

Turned out that there was a port conflict on port 10000 that was inhibiting iis.  Once I killed the process, the errors ceased.
